The Bengals rolled over Chicago 27-9 in a preseason snoozefest that played out exactly as expected—sloppy, low-octane, and mercifully under the total. DarkHorse nailed the under 36.5, and frankly, this one was never in doubt. With Joe Burrow and the Bengals' first-stringers watching from the sidelines and Chicago's offense looking utterly lifeless, we got 36 combined points of backup quarterback chaos and three-and-out theater.

Cincinnati's reserves at least showed some pulse, putting up 27 behind a mix of competent game management and Chicago's complete inability to generate anything resembling momentum. The Bears managed a pathetic nine points, looking every bit like a team still searching for an identity under center. Whether it was third-stringers or camp bodies getting reps, nobody in orange and blue was lighting up the scoreboard.

This was textbook preseason football—vanilla play-calling, zero urgency, and offenses that couldn't execute if their roster spots depended on it. The 36-point final landed comfortably under the 36.5 number, validating the read that backup quarterbacks and conservative schemes would keep this game in the gutter. DarkHorse called it: preseason totals inflated for regular-season talent rarely survive when the JV squad takes over. Easy money.
