Week 2 Fireworks: Vikings-Bears Total Looks Ripe After Explosive Openers

The Bears just hung 59 points on someone with Tyson Bagent under center, averaging a ridiculous 291 rushing yards in the process. Let that sink in. Meanwhile, the Vikings weren't exactly playing small ball themselves, dropping 39 in their opener. When Chicago puts up 59 against a Minnesota defense that typically surrenders just 22, and the Vikings answer with 39 against a Bears unit accustomed to allowing 37, you've got two offenses clicking well above their opponents' defensive baselines.

Now the market's gotten cute, dropping this total from 49.5 to 48.0, presumably because bettors got spooked by Week 1 variance. That's where the value lives. Both teams showed up ready to score in bunches, and there's zero evidence either defense has suddenly figured things out. Bagent's ground game isn't going away overnight, and Minnesota's offensive rhythm from Week 1 should carry over nicely into a Bears secondary that got torched.

DarkHorse is riding the over 48.0 with medium confidence here. It's not a max bet, but when both squads just demonstrated they can light up the scoreboard against defenses better than what they're facing today, laying points on offense makes plenty of sense. Expect another track meet at Soldier Field.
