Welcome to the game nobody circles on their calendar—the preseason finale, where starters get bubble wrap and third-stringers get their audition tape. Houston visits Carolina in what should be a masterclass in offensive futility, and DarkHorse is riding the under 36.5 with strong conviction.

The numbers tell the story: C.J. Stroud threw six passes Thursday and called it a night. Bryce Young tossed six Friday and hit the showers. Now we're in Davis Mills, Kenny Pickett, and Kyle Trask territory—quarterbacks fighting for clipboard duties while coordinators run the vanilla soft-serve offense. Houston's averaged a putrid 13.5 points in their last two exhibitions. Carolina's been slightly less anemic at 27.0, but don't let that fool you; Week 4 preseason is where offense goes to die.

Both coaching staffs care about one thing: getting through this healthy. That means conservative play-calling, simplified schemes, and defenses that won't show anything remotely exotic. Preseason finales consistently produce the lowest-scoring games of August, and this one has all the makings of a punt-fest interrupted by the occasional field goal.

Expect plenty of three-and-outs, clock-killing drives, and a final score that makes you wonder why they bothered. The under cashes comfortably here.
