Packers Torch Broncos 33-13, DarkHorse Under Call Gets Burned

So much for conservative preseason gameplans. The Packers rolled into Denver and hung 33 points on the Broncos in a 33-13 beatdown that turned DarkHorse's under 40.5 call into confetti. We projected cautious coaching staffs protecting their starters and leaning on vanilla schemes—instead, Green Bay's offense came out slinging and never stopped. The 46 combined points sailed over the number by more than a touchdown, making our reasoning look quaint by halftime.

Credit where it's due: Matt LaFleur clearly wanted his offense to build rhythm despite the preseason setting, and Denver's defense had no answers. Whether Jordan Love got extended run or the backups caught fire, the Packers offense was far more explosive than their Week 1 disaster suggested. Meanwhile, Bo Nix and company managed just 13 points despite Sean Payton's offensive pedigree, but the damage was done on the other sideline.

The miss stings because the logic was sound—preseason Week 2 typically features limited starter snaps and conservative play-calling. Except when it doesn't. Green Bay treated this like a tune-up they actually needed, and the scoreboard reflected it. Sometimes the book gets rewritten mid-game. This was one of those nights.
