Jaguars Look Live as Short Road Dogs in Denver

The Broncos limped out of Week 1 with a putrid 10-point showing and barely 131 passing yards in a blowout loss, while Jacksonville put up 34 points and looked competent doing it. Now Denver gets a short week—five days rest compared to Jacksonville's seven—and welcomes a road dog getting 2.5 points in what the market sees as essentially a toss-up. That feels generous.

Denver's already thin on the edges with Jonathon Cooper sidelined, and they're missing receiver Marvin Mims Jr., which doesn't help an offense that looked anemic in the opener. Jacksonville, meanwhile, racked up 245 passing yards and controlled tempo against a defense that allowed exactly what Denver scored: 10 points. The production gap is glaring, even if it's only one game. Denver averaged 10 points against opponents who typically give up 31; Jacksonville put up 34 against a unit allowing just 10. That's not noise—that's a mismatch.

Short rest at home after a road beatdown isn't the bounce-back spot you want, especially when the visiting team looked sharper in every phase. DarkHorse likes the Jaguars +2.5 with solid confidence, and frankly, it's hard to argue. Take the points and the better-looking squad.
