Cleveland finally remembered how to score, dropping six runs on Detroit in a 6-4 road win that snapped their three-game slide and torched our Under 8.0 call in the process. So much for that ice-cold offense we leaned on—the Guardians' bats woke up at the worst possible time for our ticket, pushing ten runs across the total line when we needed them to stay dormant.

We banked on Detroit's elite pitching staff and Cleveland's anemic .680 OPS over their last fifteen games, but baseball has a cruel sense of timing. The Tigers' 3.48 team ERA looked bulletproof on paper, and their recent stretch of allowing just 2.1 runs per game suggested lockdown mode. Instead, they coughed up six, and Cleveland's lineup decided tonight was the night to break out of their funk. Detroit clawed back with four of their own, but it wasn't nearly enough to salvage the under or the game.

Final tally: ten runs, two over the number, and one missed pick for The Stable. The Guardians got their win, we took the loss. That's baseball—sometimes the coldest bats heat up when you least expect it, and the numbers that looked so clean on Monday afternoon turn to dust by first pitch.
