Blue Jays Blank Red Sox 6-0, DarkHorse Whiffs on Boston

So much for home cooking. The Red Sox got absolutely throttled 6-0 at Fenway, turning DarkHorse's -120 fade of Toronto into a complete airball. Dylan Cease made Sonny Gray's supposed 0.19 ERA edge look like a typo, shutting down Boston's lineup while the Blue Jays offense did whatever it wanted against Gray and the vaunted Red Sox pitching staff.

Toronto scored early and often, piling up six runs against a Boston squad that came in riding a 9-1 heater and averaging nearly six runs per game at home. None of that mattered. The Red Sox bats went silent, managing a bagel on the scoreboard while their 3.56 team ERA got exposed in prime time. That 7-1 home record? Make it 7-2, and make it ugly.

The pick leaned hard on Boston's home dominance and Toronto's 2-8 skid, but the Blue Jays clearly didn't get the memo about their road struggles. Cease's elite strikeout stuff proved to be the x-factor we acknowledged but ultimately underweighted. Sometimes the opposing factor is the only factor. Boston looked lifeless, Toronto looked rejuvenated, and we're left holding a losing ticket. Happens. On to the next one.
