Rockies Get Steamrolled in the Desert as DarkHorse Whiffs on Run Line

Well, that didn't age well. The Diamondbacks absolutely dismantled Colorado 9-0 at Chase Field, turning our Rockies +1.5 pick into confetti before the fifth inning even wrapped. Arizona's offense—supposedly "mediocre" at 4.5 runs per game over their last ten—decided tonight was the night to wake up and choose violence, plating nine runs and never letting the Rockies sniff the plate.

Mike Soroka's 3.07 ERA looked pristine on paper, but the D-backs tagged him early and often, building a cushion so comfortable they could've taken batting practice in the late innings. Meanwhile, Brandon Hughes and the Arizona staff made good on that -181 moneyline, stifling a Rockies lineup that couldn't manufacture a single run despite the modest 1.18 ERA gap we leaned on. That "natural 60% coverage rate" for +1.5? Not tonight. Not even close.

The back-to-back scheduling concern for Arizona proved meaningless—they looked fresh, focused, and frankly unstoppable. Sometimes the fundamentals check every box and the game still goes sideways. Credit where it's due: the Diamondbacks came to play, and the Rockies came to get embarrassed. Tough loss for The Stable, but we'll regroup and hunt value elsewhere.
