The Pirates walked into Dodger Stadium last night and damn near stole one, pushing LA to the brink before falling 5-4. DarkHorse nailed the Pirates +1.5, and frankly, Pittsburgh showed they belong on the same field with the big boys. Now they've got to prove it wasn't a fluke.

Here's the thing about dropping a one-run game on the road: it either crushes your soul or lights a fire. The Bucs hung tough in hostile territory, and that kind of competitive at-bat discipline doesn't just evaporate overnight. They're seeing Dodgers pitching well, working counts, and finding ways to manufacture runs against one of baseball's deepest staffs.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, escaped with a win but didn't exactly dominate. Winning ugly at home against a sub-.500 club isn't the flex they want it to be. The Dodgers are talented enough to flip the switch, sure, but Pittsburgh has already proven they can hang in this building.

DarkHorse hasn't published a pick yet for tonight's sequel, but the betting-savvy crowd should note: the Pirates just demonstrated they can compete here. Don't be shocked if they're live dogs again, especially if the number creeps north of two runs. This series has legs.
