Red Sox Roll Into Oakland Looking to Complete the Sweep

The Red Sox are feeling themselves right now, and why wouldn't they? Boston just took yesterday's opener 4-2 and they're riding a ridiculous 13-2 tear over their last fifteen games, including a perfect 5-0 mark on the road. Meanwhile, the Athletics are getting absolutely shelled nightly, sporting a ghastly 5.35 team ERA that screams "batting practice."

Tonight's pitching matchup is borderline unfair. Jake Bennett takes the hill for Boston with a sparkling 2.58 ERA and 0.94 WHIP—the kind of numbers that make opposing lineups groan during pregame meetings. On the other side, Oakland trots out Gage Jump and his bloated 4.42 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. That's a 1.84 ERA gap, folks, and in baseball terms that's the Grand Canyon. Boston's staff has been stingy all season (.240 opponent average) while Oakland's pitchers are serving up meatballs at a .267 clip.

DarkHorse is hammering Red Sox ML at -144 with 4/5 confidence, and it's hard to argue. When you've got the better starter, the better bullpen, the hotter bats, and momentum screaming in your favor, you lay the chalk. Oakland's been a punching bag lately, and Bennett should keep them right where they belong—on the canvas.
