Padres Torch Brewers 11-2 as DarkHorse's Under Gets Buried at Petco

So much for Petco Park's run suppression. The Padres hung 11 runs on Milwaukee in a beatdown that made our UNDER 7.5 look foolish from the third inning onward. We banked on elite pitching and park factors creating a pitcher's duel. Instead, San Diego's bats woke up at exactly the wrong time, turning what should've been a low-scoring grind into batting practice.

The math was sound—2.84 ERA starter, Petco's -0.7 run adjustment, Milwaukee's 3.47 team ERA. All the ingredients for a tight, low-scoring affair. But baseball doesn't care about your spreadsheet when a lineup decides to break out of a slump. The Padres piled on early and never let up, while the Brewers managed just two runs in response. The final 13 combined runs sailed over our 7.5 number by a comfortable five runs.

This one stings because the process was defensible—you're supposed to trust elite pitching metrics and park factors. But when a team erupts for double-digit runs at home, there's no hiding from it. Sometimes the offense just shows up, and Wednesday night in San Diego, it showed up with a vengeance. We took the loss. Onto the next card.
