Well, that didn't go according to plan. The Athletics ambushed Minnesota 4-2 at the Coliseum, torching our Twins -150 pick and making us look foolish for trusting road splits that couldn't get much uglier. Oakland capitalized on every mistake while our supposed pitching advantage evaporated faster than a fastball down the middle.

The numbers said Taj Bradley's superior arsenal would dominate Gage Jump, but here's the problem: Bradley pitches for Tampa Bay, not Minnesota. Whatever arm the Twins actually trotted out clearly didn't get the memo about that 0.93 ERA gap we were banking on. Oakland's lineup, supposedly overmatched, manufactured four runs while keeping Minnesota's bats quiet all afternoon. The Twins managed just two runs, extending their road misery to what's likely 1-6 now.

That 3-1 season series edge? Meaningless when you can't execute away from Target Field. Home field advantage proved real, the pitching matchup didn't materialize as expected, and Oakland's offense showed up when it mattered. Sometimes the underdog bites back, and today the Athletics had all the teeth. We missed this one badly, folks. The Twins' road woes continue, and our confidence in that -150 line looks misplaced in hindsight. Chalk it up and move on.
