Twins Look to Extend Angel Stadium Mastery in September Clash

The Twins roll into Anaheim having already taken a piece out of the Halos back in mid-July, a 4-2 grinding affair that cashed the under and reminded everyone that not every game needs to be a home run derby. Fast forward two months, and Minnesota finds itself in a familiar spot: playing spoiler in September while the Angels try to salvage something resembling respectability from another underwhelming season.

Angel Stadium hasn't exactly been a fortress this year, and the Twins have shown they can manufacture runs without needing to rely on the long ball against a Halos pitching staff that's been more generous than a casino comp desk. Minnesota's ability to work counts and capitalize on mistakes should keep this one competitive, especially if their bullpen—which has tightened up considerably down the stretch—can hold serve late.

The Angels, meanwhile, are basically auditioning for 2027 at this point. Mike Trout's health permitting, they've got talent, but consistency has been about as reliable as a weather forecast in April. DarkHorse hasn't weighed in yet on this one, but if history repeats, expect another game that plays closer to the vest than the over-bettors would prefer. Twins have the edge in urgency and execution. Take the visitors if the price is right.
