Royals Look to Flip Script in Cleveland After May Beatdown

The Guardians handled Kansas City pretty easily back in May, dropping eight runs on them in a comfortable win that cashed for the sharp money. Now the Royals roll back into Progressive Field three months later, and you have to wonder if they've figured anything out since that 8-5 drubbing.

Cleveland's been rock-solid at home all year, and they've got the kind of pitching depth that makes life miserable for streaky lineups. The Royals can mash when everything clicks, but consistency hasn't exactly been their calling card in 2026. They'll need to solve whatever got them cooked last time—whether that was shaky bullpen work or just getting outclassed in the middle innings.

The Guardians don't beat themselves. They grind at-bats, play clean defense, and their rotation keeps hitters honest. Kansas City's got talent, sure, but talent without execution is just expensive disappointment. This feels like a spot where Cleveland's home-field edge and recent dominance in the season series carries real weight.

DarkHorse hasn't weighed in yet, but if the line's reasonable, fading the Royals until they prove they can hang with this Guardians squad seems like the percentage play. Cleveland's earned your trust. Kansas City hasn't.
