The Angels squeaked past the Royals 1-0 in a pitcher's duel that validated every word of DarkHorse's pre-game analysis. Reid Detmers was every bit the sharper arm we promised, carving through Kansas City's anemic lineup with surgical precision while Randy Dobnak's regression monster finally showed up in Anaheim.

Detmers delivered exactly what his 10.40 K/9 suggested he would against a Royals offense that's been colder than a Missouri February. He dominated across seven scoreless frames, racking up strikeouts and making Kansas City's road woes (now 1-9 away from home) look even uglier. Dobnak wasn't terrible, but that's the thing about low-strikeout pitchers on borrowed time—one mistake is all it takes. The Angels scratched across their lone run in the fifth, and against this Royals lineup averaging 3.11 runs per game on the road, it might as well have been five.

Kansas City's losing streak hits six games. The Angels extend their win streak to four and improve to 5-5 at home. DarkHorse nailed this one: better pitcher, better form, home field advantage. Sometimes handicapping isn't complicated. The Angels ML cashed at near-even money, and our Stable members rode Detmers' fastball straight to the window.
