The Orioles just put seven runs on the board at Citi Field last night, and they're back for more Wednesday afternoon looking to take the series. Baltimore's offense found its groove in that 7-5 win, and now the Mets have to figure out how to slow down a lineup that's clearly comfortable in Queens.

New York's pitching staff got tagged for seven, which isn't exactly the shutdown performance you need when you're trying to protect home turf in September. The bullpen couldn't hold things together late, and that's a problem that doesn't fix itself overnight. Meanwhile, the O's showed they can manufacture runs in different ways—power, timely hitting, whatever it takes.

The Mets offense did push across five, so it's not like they're lifeless, but moral victories don't count in the standings. They need to actually finish games, especially with the calendar turning to mid-September when every loss stings a little more.

Baltimore has the momentum, the confidence, and the recent evidence that they can handle whatever the Mets throw at them. If New York's pitching shows up flat again, this could get ugly in a hurry. The Orioles aren't here to play tourist—they're here to win baseball games and stack series victories.
