Brewers Grind Out 3-1 Road Win, DarkHorse Pick Cashes Clean

The Brewers did exactly what we said they'd do: leaned on superior pitching and timely hitting to take down the Angels 3-1 at Angel Stadium, cashing our ML pick at -112 without breaking a sweat. Milwaukee's arms dominated from first pitch to last, validating every word of our pre-game breakdown about that gaping team ERA chasm.

Robert Gasser wasn't brilliant, but he didn't need to be—he kept the Angels' anemic lineup off-balance long enough for the Brewers to scratch across three runs against José Soriano and company. Milwaukee's offense, batting .255 with legitimate pop all season, manufactured just enough against a pitcher whose 3.29 ERA couldn't mask the reality that he's surrounded by a bullpen sporting a bloated 1.37 WHIP. The Brewers' relievers locked it down late, because that's what a 1.17 WHIP bullpen does to a .238-hitting lineup.

This wasn't luck. This was math. We called the pitching advantage, we called the offensive edge, and we called the late-game leverage. The Angels never had a chance once Milwaukee's arms took over. Sometimes the sharp side wins clean, and tonight was one of those nights. Brewers roll, DarkHorse hits, and we're on to the next one.
