Reds Look to Avoid Oracle Park Sweep After Getting Blanked

The Reds stumbled into Oracle Park last night and got absolutely smoked, 5-0, in a game that wasn't even as close as the score suggests. DarkHorse went down with the ship on Cincinnati ML, and frankly, it was ugly from first pitch. Now the question is whether the Reds have any fight left or if San Francisco is just playing a different sport right now.

Cincinnati's bats went ice cold in the series opener, and that's becoming a troubling pattern on the road. Oracle Park isn't exactly a launching pad, but when you can't scratch across a single run, the ballpark isn't your problem—your lineup is. The Giants, meanwhile, looked dialed in, pitching with confidence and manufacturing runs when they needed them. That's a dangerous combo for a Reds team that's been inconsistent all season.

The scheduling gods aren't doing Cincinnati any favors either. Back-to-back games in this park means no reset, no chance to shake off the stink. San Francisco has momentum, home cooking, and—most importantly—they just watched the Reds roll over for nine innings. If Cincinnati doesn't come out swinging early, this could get lopsided again. DarkHorse hasn't weighed in yet, but the value hunters might be eyeing a Giants runline if the number's right.
