Rays Look to Avoid September Sweep in the Bronx as Yankees Keep Rolling

The Rays limp into Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night, and if their last meeting is any indication, this could get ugly fast. Back in early July, New York absolutely shellacked Tampa Bay 12-4, covering a hefty -4.5 spread in the process. DarkHorse nailed that one, and the Yankees haven't exactly cooled off since.

September baseball in the Bronx means playoff positioning, packed crowds, and zero mercy for also-rans. The Rays, meanwhile, are playing out the string in what's been a forgettable campaign. Their pitching staff has been porous on the road, and facing a Yankees lineup that's been mashing all month is a recipe for another lopsided affair.

Tampa's best hope is to keep it respectable early and pray their bullpen doesn't implode in the middle innings—but that's been a tall order lately. The Bronx Bombers have the bats, the momentum, and the home-field edge. Unless the Rays suddenly rediscover some magic they haven't shown in months, this one could spiral quickly.

DarkHorse hasn't dropped a pick yet for this matchup, but given the context and that July beatdown, don't be shocked if the sharps start hammering the Yankees runline once the number gets posted. The Rays are just hanging on at this point.
