Foster Griffin was every bit the elite arm we warned about, but here's the thing: Carson Whisenhunt wasn't just "hittable," he was batting practice. The Guardians jumped all over San Francisco's starter, and suddenly those sub-.700 OPS bats we highlighted—Hoskins, Bailey, Adell—looked like the '27 Yankees. Cleveland plated runs in bunches while Griffin carved through the Giants lineup like it owed him money.

The final margin wasn't close, it was humiliating. Our thesis banked on Cleveland's offensive incompetence keeping this within a run or two.
