The Dodgers squeaked past the Royals 6-5 in a game that had more twists than a pretzel factory, proving once again that in baseball, it ain't over until the final out is recorded. Kansas City came to play, hanging tough with the NL powerhouse and making Los Angeles earn every single run in front of the home crowd.

This one went down to the wire, with both lineups trading blows throughout. The Royals showed they're not just rolling over for anybody this season, pushing the Dodgers' bullpen to the brink and keeping it a one-run affair when the dust settled. Credit to Kansas City for battling in a hostile environment—they had their chances but couldn't deliver the knockout punch when it mattered most.

For the Dodgers, a win's a win, even if it wasn't pretty. They got the job done at home, but giving up five runs to a Royals squad that's supposed to be rebuilding? That's not exactly the dominant statement LA fans were hoping for. Still, the scoreboard doesn't lie, and blue comes out on top.

DarkHorse didn't publish a pick here, so no victory laps or crow-eating required. Sometimes the smartest play is sitting one out, and this toss-up proved exactly why.
