Vancouver Whitecaps Roll Into Salt Lake City Looking to Feast on Wounded RSL

Real Salt Lake is limping to the finish line like a three-legged horse, and the Whitecaps smell blood. Vancouver sits atop the league table with 46 points and a monstrous +30 goal differential, scoring more than two per game while keeping the back door locked at under a goal against. Meanwhile, RSL has turned into a dumpster fire — winless in their last ten (0-7-3), scoreless in four straight, and fielding what looks like a MASH unit roster.

Diego Luna, Juan Jose Arias, and Justen Glad are all out, with Stijn Spierings questionable. That's half your projected starting XI either on the treatment table or playing hurt. RSL's 1.54 goals for and 1.62 against look pedestrian next to Vancouver's elite numbers, and the Whitecaps already beat them 1-0 earlier this season when Salt Lake wasn't this banged up.

The market has Vancouver at -120, implying roughly 52-53% win probability, but that feels stale given the form and injury carnage. Vancouver is 3-2 in their last five with a 2.6 goals-per-game clip, while RSL can't buy a result or a goal. The Whitecaps moneyline is the play here — backing the league's best team against a squad that's barely standing. Ride the class.
