The gap between first and second is a rounding error, not a moat. Nashville deserves respect for holding serve, but this race is tighter than the standings suggest.

Vancouver at 10-3 is the league's most interesting case study. That .769 win rate slots them third, yet they're only three losses deep while LAFC and San Jose have already dropped five each despite matching Vancouver's ten wins. The Whitecaps aren't just winning—they're avoiding the catastrophic slip-ups that plague pretenders. They're the safest playoff bet outside the top two.

The middle class is an absolute scrum. New England's 9-5 (.643) gives them legitimate top-six credentials, but Chicago and Houston both sit 9-6 and feel like paper tigers waiting to get exposed.
