The Lakers host a Golden State squad that looks more like a G League showcase than a contender right now. The Warriors rolled into L.A. a week ago and boat-raced the home side 124-98, but circumstances have shifted dramatically. Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody are now out, Al Horford is getting his veteran rest day, and Kristaps Porzingis remains MIA from the rotation entirely. That leaves Curry surrounded by Yaxel Lendeborg and Gui Santos in the starting five—hardly the supporting cast you want in a hostile building.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are essentially at full strength where it matters. Luka Doncic is averaging 33.5 points through the early slate, Austin Reaves continues his breakout at 23.3 per game, and Walker Kessler practiced in full after earlier concerns. The depth chart question marks are all day-to-day role players, nothing that disrupts the core rotation.

Last season's efficiency gaps favor L.A. across the board—116.6 offensive rating and 50.2% shooting versus Golden State's 112.7 and 46.1%. Yes, it's preseason and minutes will be capped, which is why DarkHorse keeps this at low confidence, but Lakers -3.5 feels like the right side when one roster is intact and the other is held together with duct tape. Lay the short number at home.
