Two days after a wild 6-5 barn-burner in Carolina's favor, these teams run it back in Nashville for what should be another track meet. The Predators covered the +1.5 spread in that loss, keeping it competitive despite getting outgunned, but moral victories don't pay the bills. Now they're tasked with slowing down a Hurricanes squad that just hung six on them and looks every bit the offensive juggernaut we expected coming into the season.
Nashville's defensive structure clearly has holes if Carolina can light them up for six goals, and there's no reason to think those issues magically fix themselves in 48 hours. The Hurricanes' transition game and depth scoring were on full display Wednesday, and they'll be licking their chops for another crack at a Predators backend that got torched.
The scheduling gods aren't doing Nashville any favors here—quick turnarounds after high-scoring losses rarely favor the team that got burned. Carolina has the horses to push the pace again, and unless Nashville's goaltending stands on its head, we're likely looking at another offensive showcase. The Predators need to find answers fast, because this Hurricanes attack isn't slowing down for anyone. DarkHorse hasn't weighed in yet, but all signs point to Carolina flexing again.
