The Golden Knights bring their road show to TD Garden on Monday night, and the Bruins better have answers they didn't have last time these teams met. Vegas has been a thorn in Boston's side historically, and with the B's struggling to find consistency at home this season, this shapes up as a dangerous spot.
Boston's power play has been anemic lately, which is a problem when you're facing a Vegas penalty kill that's been stout all year. The Knights don't give you many chances, and when they get their transition game rolling, goaltenders start seeing pucks from bad angles in a hurry. Jack Eichel continues to torment Eastern Conference teams that don't see him often enough to gameplan properly.
The Bruins need their top line to actually show up like a top line. Too many nights this season they've gotten outworked by visiting teams who come in with a clear identity and structure. Vegas has both. Mark Stone's two-way dominance could be the difference if this game tightens up in the third period.
DarkHorse hasn't weighed in with an official pick yet, but the underlying metrics suggest Boston needs to solve their home-ice woes fast. This isn't the opponent to figure things out against.
