Stars Roll Into St. Louis Looking to Extend Early Season Swagger

The Dallas Stars make their first trip to Enterprise Center this season, and if you're a Blues fan, you might want to avert your eyes from last year's ledger. Dallas took three of four from St. Louis in 2025-26, outscoring them 15-9 across those meetings. That kind of dominance doesn't just evaporate overnight.

The Stars are built for this kind of road test—elite goaltending, a defense that doesn't give up clean ice, and a top six that can punish mistakes. St. Louis, meanwhile, is still trying to figure out its identity under new systems and personnel. Early September hockey is always a bit sloppy, but the Blues have looked particularly disjointed in their own zone through the preseason slate.

Home ice matters in the NHL, sure, but not when you're facing a team that's had your number and knows how to play a tight, structured road game. The Blues will need to generate some chaos and get traffic in front of Jake Oettinger if they want to flip the script. Otherwise, this feels like another frustrating night where Dallas controls the neutral zone, limits odd-man rushes, and grinds out two points.

DarkHorse hasn't weighed in yet, but the matchup history screams Dallas. Proceed accordingly.
