The Sabres head to Little Caesars Arena on September 24th to face the Red Wings in what should be a chippy Atlantic Division affair. Both clubs are trying to shake off their recent playoff-less streaks, making every divisional point critical from the jump.

Buffalo comes in with offensive firepower but the same old question marks in net and on the back end. When they're rolling, they can light the lamp with the best of them. When they're not, it's a leaky mess that makes you want to throw your remote. Detroit's rebuild has dragged on longer than a Kid Rock concert, but they've added some pieces and Steve Yzerman isn't exactly known for patience anymore. The Wings need to defend home ice if they want to sniff respectability this season.

This early in the campaign, neither team has established an identity yet. Expect sloppy stretches, special teams battles, and probably more goals than either coach would prefer. The Sabres have more pure skill up front, but the Wings have home crowd energy and desperation on their side.

DarkHorse hasn't dropped a pick yet on this one, so we're flying blind from the sharp money perspective. Divisional games in September are coin flips wrapped in chaos—bet accordingly or wait for the numbers to settle.
