Predators +1.5: Dallas Missing Duchene, Road Puck Lines Are Fool's Gold

The Stars roll into Nashville on Saturday night as road chalk, but there's no edge worth paying for here. Both netminders are virtual clones—Justus Annunen and Casey DeSmith both sit at .907 save percentage, nearly identical GAA—so you're not getting premium goaltending to justify laying juice on the puck line. And here's the kicker: road favorites cover -1.5 less than half the time in this league. It's a sucker bet by design.

Dallas does have firepower, led by Jason Robertson, but they're also down Matt Duchene long-term, which thins out the depth scoring behind the top line. That matters in October when chemistry is still gelling. Nashville, meanwhile, is on a back-to-back, which is ugly—but that fatigue factor argues against taking them on the moneyline, not against them keeping it within a goal at Bridgestone. Home teams dig in, role players chip in, and one-goal games are the NHL's bread and butter.

The Predators have enough to hang around. Take the plus-money cushion and let Dallas try to prove they can blow the doors off a tired but scrappy home side. We're riding Predators +1.5 with moderate confidence—road puck lines are fool's gold until proven otherwise.
