This Sunday's Colts-Commanders tilt looks like a prime candidate for a defensive slog, and the injury report tells you everything you need to know. Washington is down to the studs: Jayden Daniels is out, Terry McLaurin is doubtful, and they're missing Sam Cosmi and Rachaad White. That's your starting quarterback, your best receiver, and two critical skill pieces gone in one fell swoop. Indianapolis isn't much healthier, losing Keenan Allen from an already middling attack.
Here's the kicker: both offenses were barely scraping 24-25 points per game through three weeks even when healthy. Yes, both defenses are surrendering 30-plus per contest, but that's more a function of who they've faced than any inherent weakness. Strip away the offensive firepower and those defensive units suddenly look a lot more competent.
With Daniel Jones under center for Indy in his small three-game sample and Washington trotting out a skeleton crew, this has all the makings of a punt-fest. DarkHorse is hammering the under 46.5 with strong conviction, and it's hard to argue. Expect stalled drives, field goals, and a final score that makes you wonder why the total was ever set this high in the first place.
