Giants limp into Houston hoping offense shows up for once

The Giants roll into NRG Stadium on Sunday carrying an offense that's basically two different teams depending on the zip code. At home, they're respectable at 25.75 PPG. On the road? A pathetic 16.5 PPG that wouldn't scare a Pop Warner defense. Houston's not exactly lighting it up either, averaging 24.0 PPG overall but dropping to a pedestrian 22.33 in front of their own fans.

Here's the rub: neither offense has shown they can exploit what's in front of them. The Giants score 22.67 per game but face a Texans defense that typically surrenders 23.83 — no edge there. Houston's 24.0 PPG means nothing against a Giants defense allowing 23.33. We're talking about two teams perfectly calibrated to disappoint bettors expecting fireworks.

The Texans' home defense is genuinely leaky at 30.0 PPG allowed, but can you trust Big Blue's road offense to capitalize? Absolutely not. Meanwhile, the total has already dropped from 43.5 to 42.5, and sharp money rarely gets this wrong.

DarkHorse is riding the under 42.5 with moderate confidence, and it's hard to argue. This has all the makings of a grinding, punt-heavy slog that puts fans to sleep by halftime. Expect field goals, three-and-outs, and a final score that barely cracks 40 combined.
