Angels Look to Salvage Series Split Despite Pitching Mismatch

The Angels limp into Camden Yards for the series finale nursing a 2-8 skid and fresh off yesterday's 5-2 drubbing, but DarkHorse sees value in backing them at +1.5 despite the ugly optics. Yes, Ryan Johnson's 7.63 ERA is a bullpen's nightmare waiting to happen, but Baltimore's Brandon Young isn't exactly dealing Cy Young stuff himself. His 3.31 ERA looks respectable until you dig into a pedestrian 7.40 K/9 and a 1.29 WHIP that screams "hittable." The Orioles' lineup has more holes than advertised — Cowser's limping along at .640 OPS, Henderson's stuck at .690, and Franklin's .170 mark is essentially an automatic out. Baltimore's averaging just 3.12 runs per game at home recently, well south of their season norm, and yesterday's win likely taxed their bullpen depth heading into tonight.
The market has Baltimore priced at -190, but that ERA gap doesn't justify laying the full run and a half when the Angels have historically covered this number in 60% of road spots. Johnson will get shelled early, sure, but if Young can't put away a struggling lineup and the O's bats stay lukewarm, this stays close enough. Take the Angels +1.5 and trust the cushion.
