Diamondbacks Look to Keep Bay Area Bats Quiet After Slugfest Win

The Diamondbacks roll into Oracle Park riding high after hanging a 10-spot on the Giants yesterday, and they'll be looking to make it two straight in this Saturday night clash. Arizona's offense finally broke through against San Francisco's pitching, which has been leaky enough lately that double-digit runs shouldn't shock anyone who's been paying attention.

The Giants are stuck in that frustrating middle ground where they're dangerous enough to beat anyone on a given night but inconsistent enough to get torched 24 hours later. Yesterday's six runs weren't nothing, but when you're giving up ten, it doesn't matter how many you plate. The bullpen remains a question mark, and if the Diamondbacks can get to the starter early, this could turn into another track meet.

Arizona will be confident they've got the recipe figured out after last night's offensive clinic. The key is whether their pitching can keep San Francisco's lineup from answering back with another crooked-number barrage. Both clubs can hit, both clubs can leak runs—it's just a matter of who blinks first.

DarkHorse hasn't weighed in with an official pick yet, so you're on your own reading the tea leaves. But momentum matters, and right now the Snakes have it.
