The Guardians roll into Comerica Park carrying bats made of balsa wood and dreams made of dust. Cleveland's offense has been an absolute disaster over their last 15 games, posting a putrid .573 OPS that would make a pitcher blush. When you're trotting out a lineup full of sub-.250 hitters against a Tigers staff sporting a 3.49 team ERA, you're basically showing up to a knife fight with a pool noodle.

Detroit has owned this matchup in 2026, going a perfect 6-0 in the season series with games averaging under six runs combined. That's not a typo—these teams have been locked in pitcher's duels all year, and there's zero reason to expect fireworks now. Drew Anderson takes the ball for the Tigers with his 4.01 ERA, while Tanner Bibee counters at 3.85 for Cleveland. Neither guy is Sandy Koufax, but both have quality bullpens backing them up.

DarkHorse is hammering the under 8.5 with strong conviction here, and the math checks out. Park-neutral projections land around 7.8 runs, giving us nearly a full run of cushion. The Guardians can't hit, the Tigers can pitch, and history says this one stays low. Fade the over at your own peril.
