The Astros roll into San Francisco on Monday as -162 favorites, and frankly, the market's got this one pegged about right. DarkHorse is backing Houston ML at low confidence (2/5) — not because we're thrilled about the value, but because the fundamentals check out in a narrow decision.

Blade Tidwell takes the ball for Houston sporting a 3.18 ERA and 1.18 WHIP, a clear upgrade over San Francisco's Hayden Wesneski (3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). The real separation comes at the plate. The Giants are stumbling through a brutal offensive stretch, averaging just 2.8 runs per game over their last ten and fielding multiple sub-.700 OPS bats in a lineup that looks lifeless. Houston counters with a 5.13 runs-per-game clip over their last fifteen, anchored by Yordan Alvarez and his ridiculous 1.06 OPS.

Form matters here: the Astros are 10-5 over their last fifteen while the Giants limp in at 6-9. Add two days' rest for Houston versus back-to-back games for San Francisco, and you've got enough tilt to justify the price. Oracle Park provides some resistance, but this feels like a professional road win waiting to happen. The number's fair, not fat — take the Astros and move on.
