Rangers Look to Rebound Behind deGrom After Wednesday's Beatdown

The Rangers got absolutely smoked 11-2 last night in Houston, but they're trotting out Jacob deGrom today with a chance to salvage something from this trip. DarkHorse is backing Texas at -120, and the logic is straightforward: deGrom's 3.67 ERA and 1.07 WHIP give the Rangers a legitimate ace advantage against Ronel Blanco, who's sporting a ghastly 8.10 ERA. That's a 4.43 ERA gap—the kind of mismatch that creates betting value even in a hostile environment.

Sure, Houston is scorching hot at 9-1 in their last ten and just reminded everyone they can hit. But Blanco has been replacement-level or worse, and the Rangers have enough pop with Joc Pederson (.86 OPS) and Wyatt Langford (.82 OPS) to exploit a vulnerable arm. The market has Texas around 53.4% to win at -120, but when you're getting a Cy Young-caliber pitcher against someone bleeding runs, that number feels low.

Houston's momentum is real, and Minute Maid Park is never easy. But baseball is a daily reset, and today's pitching matchup tilts hard toward the visitors. If deGrom is anywhere near his best, the Rangers should cash this ticket. Take Texas ML at -120 with moderate confidence.
