The Marlins limp into Citi Field on Friday looking to salvage something from this series after dropping Thursday's opener 4-2. Miami's bats went quiet when it mattered, and now they're staring down a Mets club that's found its groove at exactly the wrong time for visiting opponents.

New York did the little things right yesterday—manufacturing runs, getting timely hits, and leaning on a bullpen that's been nails lately. The Marlins, meanwhile, are showing all the signs of a team playing out the string in late July. Their lineup lacks punch, their pitching staff is stretched thin, and the body language screams "we'd rather be at the beach."

This is a classic letdown spot for Miami. They're already down in the series, they're on the road, and they're facing a Mets squad that smells blood in the water. Unless the Marlins suddenly discover some fight we haven't seen, this one follows the script: New York controls the pace, adds to the run differential, and sends Miami packing with another L.

The Mets should handle business here. Fade the Fish until they prove otherwise—and right now, there's zero evidence that moment is coming anytime soon.
