Well, that didn't go according to script. Houston walked into Gillette Stadium and delivered a clinical 2-0 shutout, leaving New England's vaunted home attack looking toothless and our over 2.5 call eating turf.

The Dynamo did exactly what road underdogs dream of—score early, lock it down, and watch the home side panic. Houston's two goals proved more than enough against a Revolution squad that somehow forgot they average 2.1 per game at home. New England's offense, which we banked on to carry the goal total, produced nothing but frustrated crosses and half-chances. Credit Houston's backline for flipping the narrative on their shaky road defensive numbers, but this was mostly about the Revs going ice-cold when it mattered.

The over needed just one more goal from either side—any side—and never came close. Houston's away defense, supposedly leaking 2.12 per game on the road, suddenly found religion in Massachusetts. New England's recent form (1.6 goals-per-game in their last five) evaporated into New England fog.

Final tally: Houston 2, New England 0, and the over misses by a mile. Sometimes the math checks out and the soccer doesn't. That's the game.
