Oklahoma City visits Memphis on November 6 with the same rest profile as the home side: two days off and three games in the last seven for both. Nobody has a schedule edge, so this comes down to how these teams actually score and defend.

Start with the Grizzlies' offense. They average 120.5 points per game to the Thunder's 110.0, with offensive efficiency of 116.3 against 109.1. Memphis shoots 47.3 percent from the field versus 44.0, pulls down 49.5 rebounds to 46.6, and moves the ball for 27.5 assists to 21.6. That's a lot of advantages stacked in one direction.

Oklahoma City's recent form is the soft spot. Over their last five games, they've averaged 112.0 points while allowing 116.2, which isn't the defensive identity you want when you're giving points on the road.

The market still wants to pay for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averages 30.1 points per game, and that name-value premium is why Memphis is getting 3.5 at home. We aren't dismissing the star. We're saying the number gives back more cushion than the profile justifies.

Caveats: this is an 8-game sample, and Ty Jerome's production is likely to regress, so treat these numbers as directional rather than gospel.

Our pick: Grizzlies +3.5, rated 3 out of 5 confidence. In plain terms, we like Memphis to keep this within three points, and the home dog looks like the play.
